Abstract

Light beams refracted by the cornea and lens are focused on the retina. In the rods and cones, photons generate an electrical signal which is modified and sent to the occipital cortex, where a single image is created. We distinguish five aspects of vision: visual acuity, color vision, dark vision, visual field, and stereoscopic vision.
