Abstract
In mammals, the circadian timing system consists of a light- sensitive central brain clock located in the hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) and various peripheral clocks. Disruption of this circadian system is associated with adverse health problems including adiposity and diabetes mellitus.
