Abstract

While compiling this book and reading through the patients’ experiences, we came to realize the importance of “staying young” as professionals. That means remembering our first cases; our first conversations with our first patients; their heartbreaks and triumphs—all of which we were rooting for and living through together with them. Therefore we suggest that as a professional in the field, surrounded by experience, usual responses of choice, and average results, you ask yourself the following questions: Do I remember the emotions I lived through when I first started this journey? Am I able to combine my expertise with my own human perspective?
