Abstract

Depressive disorder is a recurring condition for many individuals and for some with anxiety disorders. This poses a significant burden on individuals, their significant others and society. Effective and timely interventions are needed in order to minimize the risk of relapse and recurrence. This article provides an overview of the risk of relapse for both anxiety and depression, efficacious strategies in order to minimize risk and ingredients of psychological interventions. Clinical implications as well as implications for research will be discussed.
