Laparoscopische radicale prostatectomie (lapRRP)

Research output: Contribution to journalReview articleProfessional

Abstract

We review the history, development and complications of the lapRRP. We describe our operation technique and the results of the first 100 lapRRP in our hospital. The use of the abdominal MRI-scan in order to define the T-stadium is also evaluated. Conclusion: the lapRRP is a feasible and safe procedure with results similar to the open-RRP. Our results are comparable to those of other series. Because of the small negative predictive value of the abdominal MRI-scan for extra capsular extension, the indication for this investigation in the workup of prostate cancer is limited.
