Abstract

To prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs), interventions to minimize exposure to workrelated physical risk factors are widely advocated. In
addition to workplace and organisational preventive measures, interventions can also focus on the behaviour of workers, known as Individual Working Practices (IWP). A series of studies provides a foundation for categorising IWP interventions and developing an integrated approach to improve IWP in physically demanding occupations.
