Abstract

Before diving into the discussion to prefer general or spinal anesthesia in fast-track surgery, it is good to take a step back. It is important to define your own starting point. Where are you in your journey and how is the local organization reacting to change? Within our network, we have traveled a long way to come to our current arthroplasty program. During this journey, we have encountered multiple challenges and discussions on the best anesthesia technique and the most suited one in fast-track surgery. We hope that sharing this will make your journey more efficient. At least it will give a lot of nuances to the discussion regional versus general.
