Abstract
The paper deals with the influence of mains interference on time coherent averaging using an internal trigger. The general distribution of the time jitter is derived and applied to a simplified signal. The authors prove that no amount of averaging can do away with this type of interference. Finally, the deformation this type of jitter has on a step signal is computed. © 1992 IFMBE.
