N2 - Hypopigmentation of the skin is frequently encountered in childhood. Such a presentation can be either congenital or acquired, and generalized or more localized. Considering that hypopigmentation can be an early indication of serious (congenital) conditions, a medical history and thorough clinical examination, including Wood's light investigation, is important. In this chapter, the clinical diagnosis, aetiology and management of different types of congenital and acquired hypopigmentary disorders will be discussed.
