Abstract

Soft tissue defects in the hand, alone or in combination with fractures, still present a challenging problem of diagnosis and choice of treatment. The past three decades have seen significant progress in upper extremity reconstruction, with the advent of microsurgical techniques and evolution in treatment concepts.
