Abstract
Hamartomas are benign proliferations, consisting of different kinds of mature tissue which are normally present in the region of origin. The diagnosis of such a tumor can be very difficult. Localization in the larynx or pharynx is rare, making the diagnosis even more difficult. A case of a 47-year-old woman with a tumor originating in the piriform sinus is presented. The tumor was removed endoscopically with CO2 laser. During follow-up of one year the patient remained free of any symptoms.
