Abstract

4-month old baby, who developed infective endocarditis of the aortic valve following purulent arthritis of the hip joint, is presented. The baby developed signs of myocardial infarction and died suddenly at the age of 6 months. Autopsy revealed a localized healed coronary arteritis, almost certainly due to an infected embolus, as the underlying cause. © 1986 The European Society of Cardiology.
