Abstract

We present a microfluidic "smart-plate" technology for C.elegans research and employ it for a detailed characterization of the effects of doxycycline on mitochondrial stress and protein aggregation in an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) worm model; our work is a prototypical feasibility study of pharmacological screens targeting early ALS modifiers.
