REsilience and COping after ViolencE at woRk - Qualitative assessment of nursing teams’ needs concerning resilience and coping with workplace violence in clinical mental health services

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Workplace violence is a risk for nurses in healthcare, especially for nurses on psychiatric wards. Despite all efforts, workplace violence still occurs and nurses suffer from it. In order to improve the resilience of nurses to cope with workplace violence, we propose three separate studies.

First, we investigate the needs and possible difficulties for implementing interventions with a qualitative study.

Second, we search for effective intervention to improve resilience regarding workplace violence in a systematic review.

Third, we use this information for a quality improvement project in Amsterdam UMC, which serves as blueprint for future implementations in other facilities.
