Project Details

Description

The aim of this project is to develop new and better technology which will enable the shift of healthcare as much as possible to the home situation, with less visits to the hospital, and only clinical consultations when the patient’s situation changes. The quality of the healthcare system should remain similar or even improve. Using motion sensors on the body and in the clothing, 24/7 observations of the patient’s motions will be recorded. Using dedicated home tests with the smartphone and with some specific devices, the patient will be self-responsible for the required input data (SENSE). Important clinical parameters concerning mobility, pain, fatigue and cognition will be derived. Data processing will be done with AI techniques and statistical methodology in order to detect transitions in the patient’s status (THINK). Next, novel and specific home interventions will be developed in home exercising, medication and assistive devices (ACT).
