Project Details

Description

BIGPROMISE is a prospective perioperative biobank and cohort study in high-risk surgical patients. It systematically collects clinical data and serial blood samples before and after surgery to enable biomarker discovery, phenotyping, and validation of risk prediction models.

The aim is to improve early detection and understanding of postoperative complications—particularly infection, cardiovascular events, and functional decline—and to translate these insights into personalized, biomarker-guided perioperative care and decision-making.
