Research interests

My research revolves around personalized diagnostics and decision making: how can we improve the clinical utility and impact of biomarkers to meet the needs of people from all walks of life. In particular, I try to understand the differences in laboratory values with respect to sex and age. I use this knowledge to develop sex and age-dependent diagnostic strategies to improve the interpretation of laboratory values, and to reduce inequalities in laboratory medicine. In order to achieve this, I strive to re-use existing routine care data or existing cohort/trial data to perform this research.
