Personal profile

Research interests

I am a clinical infectious diseases specialist and scientist and use translational research that addresses global health disparities.  My work focuses on improving the understanding of interactions between ecologies, such as the environment and the microbiome, enteric pathogens, and host immunity.

I ahve three intersecting research lines.

1. Understanding the triangulation between enteric vaccines, microbiome, and host immunity.

2. Characterizing the impact of antibiotics on the host microbiome and assessing the potential of vaccines to reduce antimicrobial usage and antimicrobial resistance.

3. Predicting how climate change will alter waterborne diarrheal disease prevalence in order to prioritise policies and interventions across high, middle, and low-income settings.
