Research interests
Sigfried Schouws works a clinical neuropsychologist with Annemiek Dols, a psychiatrist, at a specialized clinic for older people with bipolar disorder. Together they started Dutch Older Bipolars, a dynamic longitudinal cohort (DOBi). Furthermore, he participates in the Social Brain Project with Yolande Pijnenburg, a neurologist, aimed at facilitating the differential diagnosis. He also participates in the MODECT study, a study on the effects of ECT. Sigfried's interests are cognitive impairment in different psychiatric and neurodegenarative disorders, neuropsychiatry and forensic neuropsychology.
