Research interests

PhD Candidate on the 'Don't be late!' project.

We aim to delay/ prevent cognitive deterioration and work-related problems in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) by using timely interventions.

The efficacy of the 'Strengthening the mind' intervention is evaluated. This 4-month program consists of biweekly contact with work coaches who are all diagnosed with MS themselves. This intervention is compared to a control intervention to evaluate it's effects.

Both direct and long-term effects of the intervention are assessed. Patients visit the Amsterdam UMC at 4 times: baseline, post-intervention (0 months), short-term follow-up (month 6), and long-term follow-up (month 18). Patients undergo cognitive and neurological assessments during their visit and fill in online questionnaires at home at three time points (post-intervention, short-term and long-term follow-up).
