Personal profile

Research interests

My research concerns lymphoproliferative malignancies, especially indolent lymphoma (including CLL) and Hodgkin's lymphoma. I am head of the national indolent lymphoma working group (HOVON) and act as a principal investigator for international trials and projects in indolent lymphoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma. In addition, I participate in clinical trials of the HOVON Lunenburg phase I / II consortium, the European Hematology assoociation EHA lymphoma group; and I am a member of the executive committee of the EORTC lymphoma group. Related to these projects I perform translational research into the interactions of lymphoma cells with the immune system; the research focuses mainly on how the immune system can best be used in the treatment of these diseases and the identification of biomarkers for response to immunotherapy.
