Ronald Boellaard is full professor in PET methodology and Medical Physicist at the Amsterdam UMC. He has an educational background in Biology and Physics and worked as a PhD student at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. His research contributions primarily focus on pharmacokinetic quantitative analysis of positron emission tomography (PET) studies, PET image reconstruction and processing and use of artificial intelligence in PET. He is internationally recognized as expert in quantitative PET imaging and primary author of several guidelines on quantitative PET imaging. He is involved in and member several international consortia and committees. He has authored and coauthored more than 500 peer reviewed papers (H-index >80). He received several awards, including the Edward J Hoffman award from the SNMMI Physics, Instrumentation and Data Science council in 2023.
