My research focuses on exploring the vast potential of the human microbiome to develop innovative therapeutics for diabetes and related metabolic disorders. I am particularly interested in leveraging multi-omics approaches, stable isotope techniques, and anaerobic cultivation to unravel microbial functions and interactions. The overarching theme of my work is to design microbiome-based therapies for cardiometabolic diseases by understanding how gut bacteria metabolize dietary components to influence host metabolism. With expertise in human microbiome studies, animal models, and interdisciplinary research, I am committed to advancing translational applications of the microbiota to improve metabolic health. My ultimate goal is to harness microbiome-based solutions to tackle pressing challenges in the prevention and management of metabolic diseases.
