Research interests

Joeri Tijdink is an Associate Professor at the Ethics, Law and Humanities department of the Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc. His main research focuses on research integrity, mental health in academia, research culture, publication pressure, open science, the validity of clinical trials and assessment of research and researchers. He is currently leading several (inter)national projects that aim to improve research quality, reproducibility and research culture. He is also the author of the book The Happy Academic, how to survive in academia (2021). Apart from his work as a researcher, he works as a clinical psychiatrist, is a member of The Young Academy of the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences in the Netherlands and the Young Academy of Europe.
