Research interests
The main interest of research is the care for invasively ventilated patients. The research will focus on the practice of invasive ventilation, airway care applications and (de-) implementation of ventilation and airway care strategies in critical care.

- Effectiveness of routine nebulisation of mucolytic agents and bronchodilating drugs in intubated and ventilated intensive care unit patients (NEBULAE). (granted by Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development 2014)
- REstricted versus Liberal positive end-expiratory pressure in patients without the Acute respiratory distress syndrome (RELAx) (granted by Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development 2017)
- Effect of an Automated Secretion Removal Technology, named TrachFlush, on the Need for Tracheal Suctioning in intubated and mechanically ventilated intensive care unit patients (TrachFlush)(Industry sponsored trial 2021)
