Research interests
The primary focus of my research is on the clinical aspects—particularly risk stratification and therapies—of rare inherited arrhythmia syndromes. This is pursued both by leading a large international registry that provides valuable data for observational studies, and by conducting small randomized clinical trials using innovative trial designs.
In addition, my research includes the study of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest within the AmsteRdam REsuscitation STudies (ARREST) group, with a particular focus on defibrillation and electrocardiography.
