Personal profile

Research interests

As a health scientist, I am trained to study the public health arena. My expertise is in occupational health. I have experience with promoting health of workers through health promotion and primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of work-related health problems. My main interest is sustainable employability; what do workers need to continue working until their retirement age, with regards to work ability, employability and vitality. A supportive work environment is key, particularly when challenges come along the lifecourse, such as chronic disease or providing family care. The healthcare workforce has my specific attention, given the personell shortages in healthcare alongside the increasing demand for healthcare.
