Research interests
Enthousiastic and ambitious in doing fundamental doctoral research program on (burn) wound healing focusing on immunology (neutrophils) and thrombosis. My doctoral program is supervised by Prof. Dr. Hans Niessen, Prof Dr. Sue Gibbs, Dr. Paul Krijnen and Dr. H. Ibrahim Korkmaz.
My PhD is aiming to unravel the mechanisms behind burn wound deepening and the role NETosis therein. To do so, we use patient material, 3D reconstructed human skin with burns, and neutrophils to analyze neutrophil extracellular trap formation and wound healing parameters using advanced imaging and cytokine release.
