Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests focus on the role oxidative stress in critically ill patients. I investigated the effects of hyperoxemia (translational research investigating the cardiovascular effects of hyperoxia and optimal oxygenation in critically ill patients ). Furthermore, my research revolves around micronutrients (particularly vitamin C) in the critically ill patients. Besides studying the effects of vitamin C in post-cardiac arrest patients, we search for new analytical methods to reliably estimate micronutrient body status to faciliate predictive enrichment of new clinical trials and to personalize micronutrient therapy in critically ill patients. Furthermore, new treatments of hemato-oncological ICU-patients (CAR-T and bispecific antibodies) will be a new field of research .
